There aren't any catches when you buy your new shutters from Shutterplus. We only sell shutters made from premium quality materials, manufactured to our exacting standards. We pass on the large savings we make on shipping costs by waiting on vacant capacity onboard vessels (spot rates), rather than booking more expensive space in advance, so you may have to wait a week or two longer than other online suppliers, but we think you'll agree, the significant savings you make are worth the wait!

Our solid wood shutters are made from materials we can stand over - Pinewood and Basswood.
From our experience selling and installing Paulownia shutters in the past, we believe this material is too soft and marks much to easily on the slighest impact.
As a result of reaching maturity very quickly, the wide growth tree rings of up to 8cms make for a low density material that also absorbs moisture quite easily from the environment, resulting in surface cracks appearing, particularly where bottom frames are in contact with the window sill.
Our Pinewood shutter is comparable in price to Mdf, so it just doesn't make sense for us to sell what we believe is an inferior product.
